EXERCISE CAN HELP IN MANAGING PATELLAR FRACTURE

Patellar fractures are injuries to the kneecap, which can be caused by trauma, such as a direct blow to the knee or a fall.
Exercise can be helpful in managing patellar fractures, but it should be done under the guidance of a healthcare professional to avoid causing further damage to the knee joint.

1.Self-assisted Knee Flexion

Sit up straight on a sturdy chair. Cross your ankles, with the assisting leg on top of the other.
Move the training foot backwards by bending your knee, assisting the movement with the other leg. Return to the starting position.

2.Short Arc Quads

Lie on your back with a foam roller or rolled towel under your knees and let your legs hang over in a comfortable position.
Straighten your affected knee by tensing the thigh muscles, so that your heel comes off the table and the knee straightens.
Hold this position, then control the movement back down to the start position and repeat.

3.Quad Sets

Lie on your back with your legs straight.
Place a rolled towel underneath your knee on the leg to be exercised.
Your heel should rest on the ground with your toes pointing directly up towards the ceiling.
Tighten your thigh muscle and push the back of your knee into the towel.
Your leg should remain still as you tense your thigh.
Hold this position.
Relax, and repeat.

4.Isometric Knee

Lie on your back with one leg bent and the other leg straight.
Bend the ankle of the straight leg and press the back of the knee against the floor using your front thigh muscles.
Hold the tension for a moment and then relax.

5.Supine Heel Slides

Lying on your back with a sliding sheet under your leg.
Bend and straighten your hip and knee by sliding your foot up and down on the surface
