EXERCISES CAN HELP IN MANAGING KNEE BRUSITIS

Exercises can be helpful in managing knee bursitis, a condition where the bursae, small sacs of fluid that cushion the knee joint, become inflamed. Proper exercises can help reduce pain, stiffness, and swelling in the knee joint, and improve range of motion and strength.

1.Straight Leg Raise

Lie on your back with your good leg straight and rested on a wedge such as a foam roller or step.
Keep your pelvis level and your back flat.
Lift the other leg up as far as you can, keeping it straight, then lower it back down to the floor, keeping your back strong.

2.Heel Raises

Hold on to a solid object with your legs hips width apart.
Keeping your knees straight, rise up on to your toes, and control the movement as you lower back down.

3.Hamstring Stretch

Sit on a mat with your legs extended out in front of you.
Bend the good leg so that your foot touches the inside of your other knee.
Relax the knee out and bend forward, reaching towards the foot and dropping your chest towards your knee.
Keep your foot relaxed during the stretch.
You will feel this stretch through the back of the thigh of the extended leg.

4.Quadriceps Stretch

Start in a standing position. Use a desk for support, and raise one leg behind you grabbing hold of your ankle, or your lower leg.
Lift your leg as high as possible and try to keep your knee bent at a right angle.
Hold for a few seconds, and then repeat for the other leg.

5.Soleus Stretch

Sit upright in a chair in a well supported relaxed posture.
Place a towel under the ball of your foot on the leg to be stretched.
Hold the ends of the towel in both hands and straighten your leg out in front of you, keeping your heel on the ground.
Pull on the towel to bring your toes up towards you.
You should feel the stretch down the back of your calf.
Hold this position for the required duration and then change legs and repeat.
