EXERCISES CAN HELP IN MANAGING FOREARM FRACTURE

Exercises can be helpful in managing forearm fracture. However, as with wrist fractures, the specific exercises recommended may vary depending on the severity and location of the fracture, as well as individual factors such as age and overall health.

In general, exercises may be prescribed by a physical therapist or healthcare provider to help improve range of motion, strength, and flexibility in the forearm and surrounding muscles.

1.Forearm Pronation/supination AROM

Sit up straight with your forearm resting on a table.
Try to turn your palm to face upwards.
Then try to turn your palm to face down.
Continue this movement.
It is important the movement only comes from your forearm, so ensure you do not allow your upper arm or body to twist.

2.Forearm Pronation/supination Strengthening,

Sit with your affected arm stretched out on a table.
Hold a weighted stick in your hand with the majority of the stick length extending towards the thumb side of your hand and out over the edge of the table.
Rotate the palm of your hand so it turns up and down, controlling the momentum and rotation of the stick.

3.Biceps Curl

Stand or sit. Straighten one arm forwards to horizontal and support the arm with your other hand close to the elbow.
Keep the arm horizontal and bend and straighten your elbow.

4.Wrist Flexion/extension Strengthening

Start in a seated position.
Grab the Therabar with both hands and hold your arms in front of you.
Flex one wrist while simultaneously extending the opposite wrist.
Keep your elbows straight at all times.
Repeat this twisting motion.

5.Forearm Flexor Stretch

Begin standing tall and press the palms of your hands together in front of you.
Press down, until you can feel it tighten on the inside of the forearms.
Then transition to interlacing your fingers and extend elbows all the way to feel the stretch through the palm and fingers.
