Exercises can be helpful for individuals who have undergone a discectomy, a surgical procedure to remove a portion of a herniated disk in the spine. Exercise can help to strengthen the muscles supporting the spine, improve flexibility and range of motion, and reduce pain and other symptoms.

2.Quad Sets

Clench your thigh muscles, pushing the back of your knee into the towel. You should feel your thigh muscles tighten. Hold this position, relax and then repeat.
3.Ankle Pumps
Lie down on the bed. Raise both feet and point your toes away from your body. Move only your feet and keep your legs on the bed.
